Other Ways to Help

The Wandering Reel needs help to ensure our first season is a great success. Monetary donations are more than welcomed but we also could benefit from contributions in a variety of areas.

Here are just a few ways you can help:

Local Volunteers

We need local volunteers to help coordinate the events leading up to and during the screenings. Festival times and locations will be announced starting this summer. Here are just a few communities we visited in our first season and will likely return to in 2016/2017:

Tofino, BC, Bellingham, WA, Hood River, OR, Manzanita, OR, Grants Pass, OR, Florence, OR, Arcata, CA, Fort Jones, CA, Pt Reyes, CA, Big Sur, CA, Brattleboro, VT, Middlebury, VT, St Johnsbury, VT and many many more.

Help sell tickets, put up fliers, set up and clean up the event. Get involved. Be the change.

Equipment

See something on the list that you have that we need? Donate it or loan it to us.

Large Portable Projector Screen. Ideally, rear projection to give us more flexibility. Ideally, at least 9'x12'.

HD 1080p Digital Projector - We have an Epson 2045, great for small spaces. Have something bigger, badder, bolder? An upgrade will allow us to show in larger spaces and do more justice to the incredible films we curate.

Portable Sound PA System (speakers and mixer). Currently we have a small 200 watt system. Again, good only for small venues.

Microphone & Stand.

Printing & Graphic Design

We need printing support so that we can give our audience more in depth information from the filmmakers about the films they are watching. We will also be printing posters to help advertise each event. We want to print on recycled paper and keep the festival as green as possible. We are also seeking artists to contribute to the programs and a graphic designer for the posters and other promotional material as well.

Venues & Audiences

First and foremost, The Wandering Reel needs screening venues and enthusiastic attendees. We need local hosts to help connect our films with their viewers. As a host, you will provide a venue for screening, help promote the event and fill the venue. We'll be touring from British Columbia to southern California in the fall of 2016. We'll be visiting New England and Louisiana and hopefully beyond in 2017.

If you’re anywhere near our tour route, we’d love to come to you. If not, we’d love to send you our films and screening material to host your own Wandering Reel event. We encourage pop-up hosts/venues around the world at any time during our touring season.

If you have a venue or would like to curate a Wandering Reel event, please be in touch. We hope to grow constantly and continually so that these wonderful films can reach as many people in as many places as possible throughout our touring season.
